Gert-Jan Dreessen
Angle of Incidence — out now on Hypnote Records
Drummer, composer and educator Gert-Jan Dreessen presents Angle of Incidence, his debut album with a quartet featuring Jean-Paul Estiévenart, Bram De Looze and Cyrille Obermüller.
The album brings together clear melodic writing, rhythmic layering and open structures that leave space for interaction, risk and long-form development. Live, the quartet expands the album material through extended improvisations, refined dynamics and a strong collective sense of direction.
Angle of Incidence received international attention and airplay across Europe, the United States, Japan and South America. The album was selected by Focus Knack as one of the Top 10 Jazz Albums of 2025 and received the designation “Révélation” from Jazz Magazine in France.
